Cartoon Baseball

Please Help?

I need some ideas on how to decorate the nursery for my son that will be here in Sept. I don't like the cartoon characters or baseball. I thought about dragonflies or Thomas the Tank? Does anyone have any suggestions?

  1. I am a HUGE idea stealer.. I browse through pottery barn catalogs and then get inspired and find cheaper similar items online or at target or kmart, etc.. Thomas is cute and easy to find (try Burlington coast factory, they have a great baby department)... Dragonflies might look a little girly.. but if you did say a tree mural and had them around it with say a few animals, it would be very gender neutral.. Have fun, decorating is part of the fun.. just remember, for a nursery, you may be changing it in two years... so avoid wallpaper or borders at all costs... they are a pain to remove.. UNLESS you staple up a border... that works and is an easy take down.
  2. you dont wanna paint somthing on the wall that you son might wind up not likeing when he's in his toddler years thus forcing you to have to re-do the room my sugesstion is simple colors that are very boy-ish greens blues and then maybe some nature theme like trees or planes. also painting commen objects helps subject you child to early learning of thoughs commen objects
  3. I just made this for a friend of mine who wants to be surprised by the sex of her baby lol I found this for her-- gender neutral greens and yellows-- but with a music theme. Her husband is a drummer, and they met at a concert so its special to them :D http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=1840181 If you're not familiar w/ polyvore everything in the room is available for purchase you just click the link to the right. I'd be careful doing it in anything like thomas or dragon flies that you'll likely have to redo when he's 5. Pick a theme that will grow with him. And you don't HAVE to go with something "baby" My sister just did her babys nursery in chocolate brown and blue, retro style with polka dots. ALSO you can check out ratemyspace.hgtv.com and browse their TOP RATED nurseries :D super cute ideas there. Good luck and congrats on the new bebe!
