Why is it called the 'world series baseball' if only a few countries play it?

Plus some extra insignificant island nation of the Caribbean. Is it because Americans can't play any other sport that the rest of the world plays so they have to make their own? Like Gridiron and Baseball? don't they realise nobody cares about baseball apart from the US? Or gridiron? Yes.. America can't play any other sports. Gridiron, Baseball, Basketball etc, only played in the US. And I did say only A FEW countries. yes Japan, Korea, Mexico etc, they are the only ones. Then you have a whole lot of insignificant countries in latin America that nobody cares about. What about Asia, Europe, Africa, no countries in these continents with the exception of Korea and Japan is baseball, basketball or Gridiron a popular sport.

  4. Its simple. MLB is best baseball league in the world so its just consider the World Series since its where the best baseball in the world is played.

It isn't 'world series baseball' it is the Baseball World Series, and it was a marketing tool, when the only people that played baseball were in America, so it was the "world" series then. baseball is a growing sport, you have to compare it to other sports it's age befor you can say it isn't liked.

  8. Baseball is huge in Central America, Caribbean, Canada, and Japan. Gridiron (football) is big in Canada. If it's not that big anywhere else, why do they sell out stadiums when they go of the United States for games?
  9. Baseball is a great game that showcases many talents; hitting , catching , throws, speed and hustle. Many sports played around the world afford the same attributes, but still there is Baseball. Many people bash baseball to no avail it will always be around and the advent of other programs in other countries ensure it. My sport Baseball has seen me through some rough times, and I will always be there for it!!! P.S. I'm sure there is plenty of oppurtunity for other countries to get in on our world Series!!!!!!
  10. 1. The name of the MLB annual championship is the World Series. Cool name, huh? Deal with it. 2. Nobody calls football gridiron unless they call football what we call soccer. 3. What really burns you is that the vast majority of American sports fans don't give a rat's rump about soccer. Really, we don't. 4. Baseball is played in Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Canada, USA, Mexico, Panama, Honduras, Belize, Venezuela, Colombia, Aruba, Curacao, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, among others. 5. Don't even start about basketball. That sport, started in Springfield, Massachusetts, is played throughout the world. 6. Soccer is boring.
