  1. ................................................................... you got some nerve talking about pearl harbor
  2. Maybe we're afraid they'll beat us?
  3. It wouldn't be competetive and the distance is too far. You want to travel to Japan and vice versa for regular season play on a constant basis? I think not. Not to mention the teams in America are far superior to Japanese teams. Yeah you can talk about the WBC or whatever garbage you want to. But when it gets down to it and you're playing REAL MLB baseball, Japanese teams aren't going to win 81 games playing against teams like the Yankees, Red Sox and Tigers over a 162 game schedule.
  4. The competitive levels are different, with the MLB being far superior. This is why Japanese players get recruited over to the MLB, it is the highest level a player can reach. It is a World Series as the players come from all over the...you guessed it, WORLD.
  5. Competitive arguments aside, I agree that the travel would be too much (though I agree that the title 'World Champions' is a bit pompous). In hockey, there is talk of having a sort of Champion's League competition among teams in Europe, and then the winner of that would play the winner of the Stanley Cup. A lot of logistical problems exist with this, but if they could iron those problems out, it would be pretty cool to see. If something like that could be done in baseball, then maybe the 'World Champion' tag wouldn't be too far off the mark.
  6. Because baseball originated here in the states. The Japanese league came after. Thats where you get the term World Series. The Japanese league is like the IHL is to Hockey. Its considered an Amatuer league.
