Players write songs from a hand of cards, record and release them, and play shows. Everyone shares one world and one set of charts, so the artists ranked above and below you are other real people rather than opposition the game invented.

A song is written from cards covering talent, collaborators and gear, and the game shows what it is worth before you commit to it. Released songs earn on their own while you are elsewhere.

The world settles every six hours. Everybody gets the same three turns between settlements, so time at the screen is not what decides the standings. The Top 100 and five genre charts recalculate on that same clock.

Players can found record labels together and put three people in a band that writes and tours as one act.

A song can be given AI cover art and a sung thirty second clip. The clip is where the song gets its words, so its lyrics come back with it. A finished song can be published to its own public page and played on Chart Topper Radio, where anyone can hear it without an app or an account.
